eVidyaloka is a not-for-profit organization that focuses on transforming the educational landscape of Rural India. We address the top 2 chronic challenges hampering the Quality of Education – Teacher Shortage and Teaching Quality. This is done by connecting children from remote villages to volunteer teachers from across the globe, using the power of technology.

The lockdown across the country has brought education to a standstill for millions of rural children. While students in cities attend online classes from the comfort of their homes, most rural students have neither access to Internet-enabled devices nor teachers equipped to teach online. This long gap in education threatens to raise the rate of school dropouts exponentially, as underprivileged parents might engage them in supporting their livelihood.

Our children are in their homes and are yearning to learn. We also have passionate teachers who are looking for interactive mediums to reach students at the same time. Therefore, we believe that the LOCKDOWN has been for schools, and not for LEARNING!

We are currently trying to reach as many children enrolled in our program as we can to ensure they do not get left out.

> Multi-modal intervention where we connect through available devices (smartphones/keypad phones/tablets/laptops) in the villages and communities
> Building a repository of video modules which will help them to learn offline
> Enable reading programs
> Keeping our program ready for when schools reopen

All it takes is Rs.10/- a day, to help us ensure that 1 child from our program continues to get access to quality education in English, Mathematics, and Science, for 1 year.

This Daan Utsav, eVidyaloka wishes to celebrate the Joy of Giving through various initiatives, to ensure that Rural India continues to learn.

Hope you visit our stall at the Daan Utsav Seva Mela 2020 on Friday, October 2, 2020!
