(Joy of Giving Week – October 2nd – 8th, 2020)
A time to give back
2020 has witnessed never-seen-before developments in the world around us and has pushed us all to recognize a ‘new normal’. While many of us have adjusted and have been lucky to stay safe, many have suffered due to the unprecedented changes thrown our way while constantly tackling the perennial natural disasters. Goonj has been there standing with the affected, rooted firmly in its philosophy of dignity. However, we need you too along the way.

Like every year, we are nearing the festival season and it starts with our own ‘Festival of Giving’…Daan Utsav (formerly called Joy of Giving Week) from October 2nd to 8th.
‘Dil Ki Suno, Kuch Karo’ (Listen to your heart, do your bit) is Goonj’s call to you in Celebrating the Joy of Giving.
Given our huge scale of work in 26 states/UTs across India during Covid, along with the cyclones and floods, the need for monetary and material resources have increased manifolds.

Urgently required material: Clothes, woolens, blankets, dry ration, school material, toys, utensils, usable electronic devices (mobiles, laptops, computers)

We urge you to gear up and tap the resources around you and channelize them to us.

Organise Collection Drives/Camps
Below are a few ways to organise collection drives. Please follow the national health guidelines. Along with it, please refer to the Guidelines by Goonj – in Hindi in English. Understanding all the guidelines beforehand is important to avoid any inconvenience later.

῀ Public Collection Drives: Ensure a secured and covered space as a venue for material collection, finalize dates, get posters from us to spread the word, continue the collection drive for a week atleast.

῀ One-day Collection Camp: Allot a day where a truck can be parked inside/in front of your society gate for a few hours, spread the word before and get people to drop the material directly in the vehicle.

῀ Initiate ‘On Your Own’ collections: If you are based in one of the selected cities** and can collect at least 500 kg material (one Bolero load) from your friends, family, neighbours etc, Goonj will organise pick up from your society between October 10th – 30th.

Please note, pick up is not meant for individual homes.
