On 3rd October India celebrates its first-ever #GivingTuesdayIndia #DaanUtsav Indians from all walks of life will wake up to a day of giving money, material, time and their voice to their favourite causes. GuideStar India, India’s most reliable NGO information repository with over 8000 NGOs joined hands with #DaanUtsav volunteers to launch #GivingTuesday as an annual day of giving to worthy causes. Supported by some of India’s leading philanthropists and the Centre for Social Impact and Philanthropy at the Ashoka University, #GivingTuesdayIndia will help individuals and corporate India to indulge in many acts of giving using the power of social media, mobile apps and crowdfunding portals besides engaging in several fun events on the ground.
12+ collaborators are offering an attractive bouquet activities that NGOs, donors and volunteers can participate in. These include fundraising (with matching grants), donate in-kind offers, a book collection drive, a volunteer sign up app with a gift for every volunteer who signs up among other attractive promotions and prizes for NGOs. 200+ NGOs from all over India have registered for the event with events ranging from fun-filled activities for their beneficiaries to fundraising and in-kind collections. More than 20 individuals have already inspired others by sharing their personal giving stories with the hashtags #GivingTuesdayIndia #MyGivingStory. India will also witness the #UNselfie campaign on #GivingTuesdayIndia with hundreds of people posting selfless selfies with messages of giving.
