  • Radio Mirchi, in association with Silver Innings, will invite listeners to give just a few minutes of their time, by visiting an old age home near their office/ residence, and spending quality time with the residents. Given below is the list of homes that can be visited, along with suitable date and times, and the contact information.Volunteers need to follow these important  Do’s and Don’ts, when they visit these homes:
  • Please call the old age home at the contact # given below and confirm before dropping by
  • While it is not necessary to do so, carrying some small gifts (e.g, fruits, blankets, etc. as per needs stated below) would be welcome.
  • Take permission of management and the residents before taking pictures
  • Do ask the residents to share their experience on life, or any advise to younger generation
  • Be Humble, Kind, Emphatic and Happy – the goal is to cheer them up!
  • Maintain a friendly and positive body language
  • Refrain from asking personal questions, e.g., how they landed there, unless the residents volunteer. Avoid prodding, as it is a sore point for them.
  • Avoid feeling pity or sorry for them
  • Keep the conversation casual. Go with the flow during conversation and let them to the talking- they rarely get the opportunity to talk.
  • During dancing or game activity, do ensure that safety of seniors is given utmost importance
