10–20% of children and adolescents have a mental health problem of some type. Manifestations such as attention deficits, cognitive disturbances, lack of motivation, and negative mood all adversely affect scholastic development. Physicians, in collaboration with school social workers and psychologists, should help teachers recognize and contend with the mental health problems of the children and work with the parents along with this. Let’s hear from Priyanka, a mental health professional speaking on the realities of the education system in India and how if it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a village to support the child’s parents.
Our “Compassionate Caring” webinar series will bring caregiving tips and solutions from experts. Participants will become a part of a Caregivers community. These webinars will include an interactive Q&A session with the experts.
