LET’S GET SOCIAL

For every act of giving that you do during #DaanUtsav, there is a great way to tell your friends and family about it – and in turn inspire them to do the same. Sporting a #HappyDot, taking a selfie and posting it on social media is the new trend to engage more and more people to celebrate #DaanUtsav. A #HappyDot is a celebration of the joy that comes with giving without expecting anything in return. Like the black ink mark on your finger that shows you are a responsible citizen and is a proof that you have voted, a #HappyDot is symbolic of experiencing ‘giving’ in any form, however small or big. In the last few years, celebrities such as Nandita Das, Rannvijay Singh, Kalki Koechlin, Sanjeev Kapoor and Sachin Tendulkar among several others joined the movement and posted #HappyDot selfies during #DaanUtsav to reach out to more people. There are four simple steps to doing the #HappyDot selfie activity:
  1. Do an act of giving between 2nd and 8th of October.
  2. Put a #HappyDot sticker* on your cheek/finger/hand. Alternatively, you could also draw the #HappyDot with a simple marker or ball pen.
  3. Take a selfie.
  4. Share it on social media: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Whats App, etc, with the hashtags #DaanUtsav, #HappyDot, etc, along with one line about the act of giving that you did.
*#HappyDot stickers would usually be available with volunteers in your city. You could either contact them or even design and print the stickers yourself.
