Meet Aarti Puri – the 60-year-old lady who cooks fresh food for over 400 dogs, every single day.
Be it a hot summer day or a cold winter afternoon, there is no force on earth that can stop Aarti Puri from her daily ritual of cooking a fresh meal for hundreds of animals on the road. The founder of Karan Puri Foundation, a trust that she started in the memory of her late husband, she is devoted to serving 400 stray cats and dogs a warm and large portion of food, every single day of the year.
Irrespective of her age and health, she climbs up her terrace everyday at noon and spends good three to four hours preparing food for these voiceless beings. Every day more than 50 kg of rice and chicken is used to prepare the dinner, and believe it or not, the dogs and cats spend the whole day just waiting for this one delicious meal, thanks to love and effort that goes into making it.
She not only prepares the meal but also packs the meals in separate packets with due diligence and care. So at an age, where most people choose to just rest and retire, Aarti Puri is an inspiration for all. Her devotion towards giving each animal, a wholesome meal is just phenomenal.
